Building the vision since 1987.

We, Andrea and Gregg, bought this beautiful farm back in September of 1987 with the intention of creating a warm and inviting space to raise our family and experience the joys of peaceful country living. At the time of purchase, the farm was still in its early stages, with just a handful of humble buildings and a lowly dirt road as the only entrance. However, despite its humble beginnings, we had a grand vision for this place.

With determination and hard work, we ambitiously set out to make our dream a reality. We dedicated countless hours to logging the land, meticulously constructing fences, laying down new roads, and renovating the existing structures. Through these efforts, we were able to not only improve the functionality of the farm but also build our very own dream home.
As time went on, our love for this place grew exponentially. We wanted to create a haven of serenity, so we embarked on an endeavor to plant a staggering number of trees - over 1,000, to be precise. These lush additions turned our farm into an exquisite sanctuary, surrounded by nature's beauty at every turn.

One of Gregg's passions, cultivated through his Iowa roots, was his deep appreciation for antiques and all things with a rusty charm. Over the years, he meticulously curated a remarkable collection of unique pieces. Eventually, this collection became the foundation for an Antique Shop, nestled right here on the property. What a pleasure it has been to share these one-of-a-kind treasures with others who find joy in the timeless appeal of vintage pieces.

In 1998, we decided to mix things up and transform the farm into a delightful pumpkin patch. It quickly became a beloved local attraction, filled with a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy. From navigating through a thrilling corn maze to leisurely tractor rides and opportunities to interact with adorable animals, such as our charming donkeys, the pumpkin patch offered a delightful experience for everyone. And of course, no visit to the patch was complete without choosing the perfect pumpkin to take home as a cherished memento of the day.

Seeking an additional venture to explore, we chose to diversify our crops. This led us to establish a thriving Hardy Kiwi Orchard on the back 10 acres of our farm. The delightfully delicious berries produced from our orchard quickly gained popularity, and we took pleasure in sharing their bounty at local farmers markets for numerous years.
In 2009, we were inspired by a local event venue and thought “We could do that!” and we’re excited to bring a similar concept to our own farm. Three years later, we anxiously hosted our first wedding, which surpassed all expectations and left us with hearts full of gratitude. Since that magical day in 2012, we have continued to open our doors to couples, families, and friends, providing them with the idyllic setting for their special celebrations and lasting memories.

It is with great anticipation that we eagerly await your visit to Red Cedar Farm. We are confident that once you set foot on this enchanting property, you will instantly comprehend why it occupies such a special place in our hearts. So come and see for yourself all that this farm has to offer – a testament to our passion and years of hard work, surrounded by the loving embrace of nature's beauty.
